OUR APPROACH AND ETHOS

It is rare for two individuals to receive the same treatment plan, or approach at our centre, even if they report the same complaints. All practitioners at our centre are serious about tailoring their chosen modality, or combination of modalities, to serve the client’s physical, emotional, spiritual and social experience, as presented in real time. Hence, they are interested in knowing a lot more about their clients, than an MRI report may deliver.

The practitioners at Central Balance have all received high quality training in their specialties, including Physiotherapy, Sport’s Rehabilitation Science, Pilates, DNS and various other scientific and holistic modalities. They are all experienced and passionate about their work, forever studying and practicing in order to innovate, optimise and enhance the effectiveness of their unique skills.

In-service staff training is routine throughout the year, at the centre, in order to establish clear, coherent and methodical protocols for everyone in assessment and treatment, as well as health and safety and customer service.

The safeguarding of our clients, staff and visitors is paramount at Central Balance, as we follow official Health and Safety, Fire Prevention and GDPR company operations. According to these documented guidelines, everyone attending the premises is provided with written information and guided through an induction process, to be informed regarding these policies.

Click here, to access our Information, Policies and Procedures for Clients document. It includes health and safety, as well as GDPR guidelines, regarding our operations. This document will be provided, during your Initial Assessment Session, where you will be asked to provide your signature, in understanding and agreement to its terms, prior to your sessions with us.

Some of the modalities, such as Pilates, are also offered online, through video conference sessions, upon arrangement, for the convenience of those who wish to attend, but may not have access to our premises.

Our definition of a ‘clinical and personalised’ service

Labels such as ‘Clinical Pilates’ are frequently used nowadays to advertise a therapeutic approach to many established health and fitness methods. At Central Balance we believe that a ‘clinical’ approach to any method of exercise, treatment or training, is only as valid and reliable, as the delivering practitioner. ‘Valid and reliable’, means that it is effective and results are reproducible every time.

A clinical practitioner should have

  • An innate understanding of the theoretical and practical details of their specialty i.e. Physiotherapy, Pilates etc.

  • Updated knowledge of the latest evidence based literature, concerning their area of expertise and common conditions, as well as of related topics.

  • Competence in clinical assessment of the anatomical, functional and symptomatic presentation of the client.

  • Experience in identifying each client’s needs and producing specific goals, in order to plan a personalised treatment / training approach.

  • The ability to synthesise information in order to choose indicated treatments for a clients benefit and eliminate contraindicated techniques, regarding their presenting condition and /or medical history.

  • Highly effective communication skills and a developed sense of compassion and responsibility.

  • Proficient hands-on and time management skills.

  • Comprehensive problem solving and reasoning skills with regards to adaptation and combination of techniques, to meet each client’s needs.

  • Knowledge of applying valid and reliable outcome measures to define the progress and development of the client throughout their treatment period.
