WHAT ARE ENERGY TECHNIQUES?
Energy Techniques are sessions comprising of meditation and practical processes which are designed to promote:
Self awareness
Hacking habitual patterns
Eliminating stress and anxiety
Pain management
Improved focus and concentration
Increased creativity and productivity
A more peaceful and content state of mind
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Strong emotions felt from events in our lives, such as betrayal, trauma or loss, alter the way we feel inside our body. We usually place our attention on the cause of the event, which is outside of us. The brain stores that pattern neurologically, which is how long term memories are created. Later, when we have a similar, strong emotional experience, it catches the brain's attention and we begin to think within the same neurological pattern, as in the past experience. Chemically we are driven to feel within the boundaries of the emotions we have practiced in the past.
It is becoming common knowledge that how we think and feel determines the state of our being. If we don't know how to mediate or integrate our emotional reaction to life events, and keep the flow of stress-induced chemicals going on for a period of time, that event produces a chemical change and the body will be out of homeostatic balance. If it cannot return it to balance, due to the elongation of that emotional reaction for days or weeks, our body becomes addicted the new chemicals, our mood is altered and anything outside of those ongoing emotions, begins to feel uncomfortable. If we keep that mood lingering for weeks or months it becomes a temperament. Subsequently, keeping that emotional reaction going on for years, eventually develops into a personality trait.
Becoming addicted and accustomed to a comfort zone of emotions, which do not serve our highest good, can be difficult to alter, just like an addiction to alcohol and smoking. However, when our ability to focus is improved to function more effectively, by developing a heightened sense of objective awareness, clarity and reflection, with a variety of techniques and exercises, we can in fact change and create our own reality, of a life we are excited to live.
HOW IS IT DONE?
All Energy Techniques sessions at Central Balance take place following an Initial Assessment where your areas of concern and/or interest will be identified based on your personal goals and needs
1 hour sessions are taught 1:1, or in small groups of 6 or 7 people
Techniques may involve anything from guided meditation and focus development activities, to written and physical movement exercises.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
If you haven’t already, prior to your appointment, remember to bring any doctor’s prescriptions, scan results, medication list.
